Who We are

Moving Women Forward Association Inc. (MWF), is an Australian based not for profit organisation. MWF’s vision is to give hope to women from all facets of life to reach their full potential. Through the medium of film, television and new media as well as mentoring, educational workshops, life coaching and professional speaking women are encouraged to regain their strength as well as achieve independence and self-sufficiency with hope, patience and firm determination.

Moving Women Forward was founded by Barbra (Zaloumis) Lester.

Our Mission

Help as many women as possible, particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds and vulnerable communities, to find hope and overcome all forms of abuse: sexual; financial; emotional; spiritual; immigration status and abuse of children. As well as divorce, grief and any other negative circumstances women find themselves in.

Provide practical support for women who find themselves exposed to all forms of abuse, with the emotional, inspirational and practical support that leads to self –sufficiency.

Enable women in unsafe situations to consider viable alternatives and options rather than returning to their abusers.

MWF recognises that in rescuing a woman from abuse, a family is rescued.
